The Royal Hotel, Ventnor on the Isle of Wight was the setting for Tiddy & Toms's early Spring Wedding. With the bride and groom both staying at the hotel, I could document the calm, chaos and everything in between while they were getting ready. Capturing authentic moments like this is exactly what documentary photography is all about.
The ceremony took place in "The Geranium", with its crystal chandeliers, high ceilings and ornate decor; it always makes for a stunning backdrop to any wedding. Tiddy & Tom took their vows in front of family and friends, in a room full of love. You only have to look at the faces of their guests to see just how much these two mean to them all! We spent most of the day avoiding rain, but the famous Isle of Wight weather didn't disappoint and on this occasion, it treated us to a few blasts of sunshine. We used the opportunities to capture some stunning couple and family portraits.
The majority of the day was spent laughing, celebrating and sharing stories with family and friends, everything a good wedding should be. As a wedding photographer, one of the key moments I love to photograph is the speeches. They are a fantastic opportunity to capture genuine reactions and emotions from all of the guests, you only have to look at the images to see just how great these were. The band "The Hanging Baskets" and DJ Tony Martin provided the entertainment for the evening. I always love capturing shots on the dance floor, it's often fast-paced, full of energy and so much fun or emotion.
