SJ JONES PHOTOGRAPHY
Relaxed, Emotive & Authentic Wedding Photography
If you’ve stumbled upon this little corner of the internet,
chances are congratulations may be in order — or soon could be.
If you’re looking for a wedding photographer who will take relaxed, natural, elegant and timeless photos of your day — someone who’ll make you and your guests look great and capture the fun, feeling, and emotion without the poses or hours away from your friends and family — then you may want to read on.
Hi, I'm SJ. I'm a documentary wedding photographer based on the Isle of Wight,
but I travel across the UK and beyond to capture authentic, timeless images
for couples who want a relaxed vibe.
Whether you’re having a London Wedding at Claridge’s, a Chateaux Wedding in France,
or an alternative DIY celebration in your hometown, my approach is always the same.
To tell your love story!
I aim to capture your day exactly as it unfolds without the photography holding it hostage.
There are no awkward poses or hours away from your guests. It’s the small, intimate details and moments that make up the big memories, and I document them all.
I capture the laughs and tears, the hugs with Nan's or shots with Gran's,
fingers touching and holding hands.
Morning swims, dinosaur masks, and dancing in the rain.
Dresses hung up, doughnut trucks and rings exchanged.
I capture stolen glances, beaming smiles and a tender touch.
Wedding photography is not just about taking a picture,
anyone with a mobile phone can do that.
It’s about truly capturing human connections and emotions, and creating something you can feel, images that transport you back to a moment and make your senses spring to life.

Hi, I’m SJ,
but you can call me Steve.
I'm a documentary wedding photographer based on the Isle of Wight.
I travel across the UK and worldwide, capturing beautiful love stories for fun, relaxed couples who plan weddings their way.
I received my first camera at the age of 12 when my mum gave me her 35mm film camera, and I used that same camera into my mid-20s.
I spent those years capturing people and places across Europe on film, and those same film-inspired aesthetics still influence my photography style today.
With a decade of experience as an Isle of Wight wedding photographer,
I’ve had the privilege of documenting countless beautiful moments
for relaxed, fun-loving couples.
My goal is always to create timeless, natural images that reflect your unique story.
As a husband and father myself, I know just how important it is to capture the moments that really matter, the ones that only happen once.
Your Isle of Wight
Destination Wedding Photographer
I’ve been lucky enough to photograph hundreds of weddings over the past decade,
the majority of which have been right here on
the Island I call home.
I grew up exploring its beaches, downs and woodlands, so seeing it become a wedding destination in its own right is a true joy.
I get to share my local knowledge and love of the landscape with my couples, and I’ve been privileged to photograph almost every venue the Island has to offer.
So if you’re booking your wedding on our beautiful Island, you’re not just getting a ready-made destination wedding photographer, you’re also getting a few extras.

A calming voice when the nerves kick in.
An extra pair of eyes on the running toddlers.
A tour guide, an organiser, a timekeeper, and a mover of people (or furniture).
I’ve been known to lace up a corset dress in a moment of crisis,
and soothe a baby in a moment of need.
Most importantly, you get a champion who’s truly invested in you as a couple,
your day, your story, and in many cases, a new friend.
If you'd like to know more about what I offer, including pricing, FAQs,
and how I work, head over to the weddings page.
It's packed with helpful info to guide you.
