Charming Yurts, Pronovias Elegance, and Charlotte Mills Style at The Garlic Farm

Sam’s wedding morning began in a beautiful yurt at The Garlic Farm on the Isle of Wight, the perfect setting for a woodland-inspired celebration. Surrounded by the natural charm of this unique venue, the atmosphere inside was filled with quiet excitement and happy anticipation.

The talented Jo Lofthouse and Julie Wallis worked their magic on hair and makeup for Sam and her bridal party, creating effortlessly elegant looks that perfectly complemented the day’s relaxed, romantic vibe.

Sam looked stunning in her Pronovias wedding dress, pairing timeless elegance with her own modern twist. Her Charlotte Mills shoes added a playful touch, with a silver sixpence tucked inside, and the inscription on the sole reading: "Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, A Sixpence in your Shoe."

One of the most emotional moments of the morning was the first look with her dad. Capturing his proud, teary-eyed reaction as he saw his daughter in her dress for the first time was a true privilege — a simple, heartfelt moment that reflected the deep bonds of family love.

The rest of the morning was a blend of candid, documentary-style shots — laughter among friends, final touches of makeup, and quiet pauses as the excitement built toward the ceremony.

Woodland Ceremony with Music, Confetti, and a Beautiful Blend of Love and Elegance

The woodland ceremony at The Garlic Farm was nothing short of magical. Acoustic melodies from Mr. Mojo drifted through the trees as Sam and her bridal party arrived in true countryside style — by tractor and trailer.

Leading the way was Sam and Jamie’s young daughter, a moment filled with pure joy as she set the tone for the heartfelt procession.

With her dad by her side, Sam walked down the woodland aisle, her face beaming with happiness. Jamie, waiting at the altar, fought back tears at the sight of his bride for the first time.

The ceremony, conducted by Jeni Law of Island Celebrants, was beautifully personal, filled with laughter, emotion, and the warmth of family.

Colourful flowers from Bay Tree Florist were strung delicately from the trees, creating a stunning natural backdrop. The woodland setting came alive with thoughtful rustic details by Wed & Prosper — vintage rugs lined the aisle, a wooden barrel bar added charm, and a luxurious leather sofa setup provided a perfect spot for relaxed mingling.

One of the most touching moments was the traditional handfasting ceremony, where their daughter stood between Sam and Jamie, grinning up at her parents as they made their vows. It was a beautiful symbol of unity, perfectly capturing the spirit of the day.

As Sam and Jamie walked back up the aisle as husband and wife, they were showered in confetti by their cheering family and friends — a joyful finale to a truly unforgettable ceremony.

Drinks, Laughter, and Family Photos in the Woodland

After the emotional woodland ceremony, the atmosphere in the woodland was filled with joy and excitement. Guests gathered for drinks, exchanging well wishes and sharing laughter under the canopy of trees. The natural beauty of the setting, paired with the sounds of clinking glasses and happy chatter, created a perfect moment of celebration.

One of the day's highlights was the family photo session, where everyone came together on a vintage rug surrounded by colourful flowers strung from the trees. The woodland served as the perfect backdrop, adding warmth and character to the family portraits. The smiles and relaxed nature of the photos captured the essence of this special day — a true reflection of the love and happiness that surrounded Sam and Jamie.

Speeches, Love, and Laughter at The Garlic Farm, Isle of Wight

After guests had enjoyed drinks and the sunshine in the courtyard, the team at Wed & Prosper put the finishing touches on the stunning décor inside the restaurant, while the kitchen team at The Garlic Farm finalised the delicious food for the evening.

The wedding breakfast was followed by heartfelt speeches that brought both laughter and a few tears.

The father of the bride kicked things off with a funny yet emotional speech that set the tone for the rest of the evening. Jamie’s speech was equally beautiful, leaving no dry eyes in the room as he expressed his love and admiration for Sam. The best man brought the speeches to a close with a mix of humour and heartfelt moments that had everyone in stitches.

Before the evening festivities kicked off, we took a couple of minutes for some natural couple portraits in front of the old barn doors, capturing Sam and Jamie together in a quiet moment before the celebration continued.

Wedding Band, Mr. Mojo Rocks The Isle of Wight Garlic Farm for First Dance

As the evening festivities began, the acoustic melodies of Mr. Mojo’s earlier duo gave way to the full energy of their three-piece band. They kicked things off with rock and popular cover songs that had everyone ready to hit the dancefloor.

Sam and Jamie led the way with their first dance, a beautifully tender moment that set the tone for the night. Their young daughter quickly joined in, making it a heartwarming family moment before the newlyweds invited their guests to fill the floor and dance the night away.

The dancefloor is always one of my favourite places to capture those wonderfully candid moments — guests letting loose, laughter filling the air, and pure joy written on everyone’s faces. The perfect ending to an incredible day at The Garlic Farm.
